One of the unique features of the Corwin Mills Nordic Centre is our collection of cozy warm-up huts, which are located at various locations throughout our trail system.

Bailey’s Cabin

Bailey’s Cabin was officially opened in the winter of 2016. It is located on Prairie Pond trail at the Glen’s trail junction just 2.5 km from the main Lee Churchill Chalet. This cabin was funded from the Canada 150 Grant our club received.
Baileys’ Cabin is named after two longtime members of Clarenville Nordic: Regina (Gina) & Bill Bailey for their countless volunteerism with the club and their sharing of the sport they love with all their heart. Also, Bill is our very dedicated groomer!

Prairie Pond Hut

(Trollhaugen Hyyte)

Prairie Pond Hut is found at the end of the Prairie Pond trail, or 4.5 km from the Lee Churchill Chalet. The hut is a favorite destination for many skiers and snowshoers. This Hut is named in honour of the close connections and friendships made with Norwegians during the building of the Hibernia project in the early 1990s in nearby Bull Arm.

Lindo’s Lookout

Nestled atop the summit of our trail system, Lindo’s Lookout offers one of the best views of the Town of Clarenville from our trails. It was named after longtime member, and avid skier, Lindo Palmer.

Bear Pond Hut

Bear Pond is the first warm-up hut that Clarenville Nordic built. In the summer of 2017 this hut underwent some renovations and updating. This hut is located on Bear Pond trail and it offers a beautiful view of Bear Pond (its namesake), as well as the surrounding boreal forest.
